THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SAVANNAH WEDDING VENUES
Forsyth Park
If you’re traveling to Savannah you’ve likely heard that Forsyth Park is one of the must-see spots in the city, and that’s because it’s beauty is really unmatched! There’s tunnels of live oak trees drenched in Spanish Moss leading up to the famous fountain in the center. You can book your wedding or elopement to be right in front of the fountain, making this venue one of the most desireable spots in the city! If the park is a little too crowded for your style, you can also host your wedding in one Savannah’s plentiful smaller, squares. These squares are spread all throughout the city and are just as beautiful as the big park. Some of my favorites are Orleans Square, Whitefield Square, and Chippewa Square. Many of the squares feature elegant statues, fountains, and trees (they’re also great spots to propose if you’re looking to plan that, too!). Click here for more information on how to rent Savannah’s parks and public spaces.
The CATHEDRAL of St. john the Baptist
One of Savannah’s most popular landmarks and tourist destinations is the Cathedral. It’s an iconic staple in the Savannah skyline, and if you’re looking for a traditional style wedding in a gorgeous church, this is THE place to go. It’s jaw dropping gorgeous inside and your wedding will be unforgettable. The squares next to the church make an awesome spot for bridal party photos, too! Click here for some more information on how to book here.
VICTORY NORTH
This newer Savannah venue is perfect for couples looking for an all in one kind of place! They offer a getting ready area in the upstairs of the building, with eccentric colorful decorations and large windows for beautiful light. There’s space for two separate groups to get ready if you don’t want to see each other before the ceremony. You can have your ceremony in the fenced in, private courtyard outside or in the building itself. There’s string lights as well as a cute seating area and outdoor bar for cocktail hour. The backdrop of the ceremony space is greenery, but in the spring it blooms into stunning white flowers. The main reception space is indoors, and includes professional entertainment lighting and a full stage if you wanted to have a live band. There’s also a balcony to offer guests (and photographers!) an above view of the dance floor. Located in the Starland District of Savannah, this venue is a little off of the beaten path, so don’t expect to be bothered by too many tourists walking around! It’s a short drive to Forsyth Park as well if you wanted a different backdrop for formal photos. You can read more about Victory North here!

Another fabulous option is The Greene, an elegant solarium-styled space complete with a dramatic serpentine glass wall.” If you’re looking for a luxurious, stunning spot that leaves all your guests speechless - click here to book!
THE MACKEY HOUSE/RED GATE FARMS
Built in 1997 for their daughter, this beautiful colonial style home (A colonial-style home usually has a simple, borderline minimalist rectangular shape. They tend to be two to three stories tall with fireplaces and brick or wood facades. Colonial homes are traditionally found on the east coast of the United States) has been transformed into the perfect wedding venue. If a farm or barn is more your style, the rest of the property is a dairy farm from the 1930s, and they offer several different options to hold your event. Originally, a piece of the 440 acre-wide land was used as confederate army camp, but was later taken over and occupied by Union troops during the March to the Sea. “Years later, the Spanish American War began, and a powder magazine used to house ammunition was built on land adjacent to what would become Red Gate Farms, and the magazine keeper’s house was built on the land. Today, you can still see what is left of the powder magazine off of Ogeechee Road, and the keeper’s house still stands on Red Gate Farms.” This venue is rich in war history, but was never used as plantation land and the owners are careful not to advertise themselves as such on any of their websites. This is important to me, and you can read why here. The home on the property wasn’t built until the late 1990’s, so it gets my seal of approval as one of my favorite venues in the city. You can read more about The Mackey House here, and more about their other spaces here!
